2017 Maroochy Gunyah Event

This project was designed to tell the ancient stories of Maroochydore and surrounds through song dance, story (Gubbi Mob), in the unique setting of a contemporary Gunyah (Indigenous dwelling) made from bamboo and paperbark (Kris Martin and team) and projected local Indigenous artwork and images of Brent Miller, Lyndon Davis and Gubbi Mob. The event was held on Chambers Island, on the Maroochy River. A photographic exhibition of historical Gunyah images was held in the Maroochy Sailing Club Hall. These events were funded by Sunshine Coast Regional Council RADF and Minor Grants.
